Quilting Supplies - Interfacing

Interfacing is used to add body and strength to a fabric or to create fabric stuctures and shapes such as making fabric bowls or tailored jackets. Most quilters use interfacing to add strength, longevity, stability and manageability to their quilt. Browse our quality interfacing to add to your quilting supplies. We carry nonwoven interfacing, woven interfacing, knit interfacing weft-inserted interfacing, fleece interfacing, and combo interfacing/stabilizer/fusible web products. Find the interfacing you need for your quilt project here at Quilting-Warehouse!

Nonwoven InterfacingNonwoven InterfacingNonwoven interfacing is made from bonded man-made fibers. Use no stretch nonwoven interfacing for medium to heavyweight fabrics. Use stretchable nonwoven interfacing for soft shaping.

Woven InterfacingWoven InterfacingWoven interfacing is made from threads woven together. There are usually lengthwise threads(warp) and crosswise threads(weft). Woven interfacing is good for light to heavyweight fabrics.

Knit InterfacingKnit InterfacingFibers are interlinked together to form knit interfacing. Use knit interfacing if you want to add extra body to garments, reduce wrinkles or to interline knitted fabrics.

Weft Inserted InterfacingWeft Inserted InterfacingThis is a very fine interfacing. Cross wise fiber is inserted into a fine web knit fabric to create a stable but flexible interfacing. Used for traditional soft tailoring and designer drape in lightweight jackets and coats. High quality weft interfacing does not require pre-shrinking. Developed for lightweight fabrics. Use with Dry Clean only Fabrics.

Fleece InterfacingFleece InterfacingFleece interfacing is used to interline garments for warmth and to make shoulder pads, sleeve heads, quilts and other craft items. Creates a slightly padded look in crafts and garments. Also use it to give your quilt a low loft.

Fusible Interfacing & StabilizersFusible Interfacing & StabilizersThese products work great for crafts projects such as fabric bowls, fabric vases and fabric boxes. Fast2fuse is a stabilizer interfacing with the fusible web already attached to both sides. It works best if you prewash your fabric. Use the heavyweight Fast2fuse for projects with straight sides and regular weight for projects with curved sides. Timtex is a stabilizer interfacing that is used to make your craft project stiff and sturdy. You need to use a fusible web such as "Wonder-Under" with Timtex. The fusible web adheres the fabric to both sides of the Timtex to make a fabric -Timtex "sandwich."

Interfacing can add longevity to your quilt by making your fabric stonger and longer lasting. Make sure you use an interfacing that has a similar care method as the fabric. For example, if your fabric is dry clean only then use an interfacing that is dry clean only. Generally you pick an interfacing that is a little lighter weight than your fabric. You can also use different weights of interfacing for different parts of your project. Please feel free to browse our wide variety of interfacing.
