| | Quilting StabilizerQuilt Stabilizers are used to make your fabric stronger and more stable when you are embroidering your project or are employing some kind of decorative stitching technique. It is designed to support and even replace fabric that is under the stress of dense stitching or multi-directional stitching. There are four basic stabilizers to choose from, wash away stabilizers, tear-away stabilizers, cut-away stabilizers and heat-away stabilizers. Stabilizers can be permanent or temporary. Some stabilizers are better for certain fabrics or decorative stitching techniques than others. Please take a look at our large selection of quilting stabilizers.
|
 | Wash Away Stabilizer Wash Away stabilizers are completely removable with water. We carry sheet and sprayable liquid wash away stabilizers. Use wash away stabilizers as temporary support for your project. They are best used on embroidered appliques, cutwork, mesh fabric, and delicate fabric.

| | | Tear-Away Stabilizer Tear-Away Stabilizers are torn away from the project but are not always removed completely. Tear-Away Stabilizers provide temporary support for your project. They come in a range of weights from light to heavy weight. They also come as fusible stabilizers and non fusible stabilizers. Use them on natural fabric and woven fabrics.

| | | Cut-Away Stabilizer Cut Away Stabilizers are not removed except for the excess you cut off. Cut-Away Stabilizers are used for permanent support. They come in a range of weights from light to heavy weight. They are best used on knits and loose woven fabric.

| | | Heat-Away Stabilizer Heat Away Stabilizers are temporary support for your project that can be completely removed with an iron. The stabilizers come as woven sheets or plastic film. They are best used on delicate fabrics, nonwashable fabrics, and for specialty stitching techniques such as off the edge stitching.

| Quilt Stabilizers are named after the technique used to remove them from a project. Make sure you save all directions for your stabilizer so you can refer to them at later times. Your quilt will look fabulous with that special decorative stitching technique. You can make sure your quilt can handle the stress of your stitch by using an appropriate quilt stabilizer. |
